Hers

Is there a difference between the thinking of a 20- or 30-something-year-old single male and a 40- or 50-something never-married single male about getting married? I will address that in the next article. In the meanwhile, first, view the video on the “HIS” Webpage. After that, view the response from her HERE of the marry-me-or-don’t-bother-coming-over ultimatum given by her. This film clip is from the movie “Picnic,” which was released by Columbia Pictures in 1955.

Woman Praying

Have Faith in God

By Victoria Hundley

Today I would like to share with you a message about faith. Faith is the most important subject in the Bible. Why? Because faith pleases God. It is the currency of heaven for what you have need of. Currency to overcome situations in your life. Faith is what will get you through hard times, faith will help you overcome mountains in your life, faith will take control of situations around you that look impossible. What will you need to overcome problems? Faith! Faith in what? Faith in the news? Faith in this crazy world we live in? No! Faith in God, Faith in His Word. God will not fail you, God’s Word will not stop working. It is strong like a rock, like a fortress! You can lean on it, you can trust it and it will not fail you.

Psalm 121 NKJV

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.”

What do you have faith in? You must have your faith in God, faith in His Word. We all need to keep our eyes on the Lord and not on our circumstances. How do we keep our eyes on the Lord? By keeping our eyes on the Word, and faith in the Word of God! How do you get faith in His Word and faith in God? Well, you spend time with God, you get to know Him, know His character and see how God really is. You’ll see in the Word how He will take care of His children and you will see all the promises He has for you. Your faith will grow as you read the Word. Once you see God’s promises for your situation you start speaking them out of your mouth and declaring that is what you will have.

Joshua 1:8-9 NKJV

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Proverbs 4:20-24 NKJV

“My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you.”

The Word of God is His bond His covenant to us. It is His promise to us. God made a covenant with us, with His Word. We can have anything the Bible says we can, if we will believe it, have our faith in what He said in His Word. Whatever you need you look to the Word, put your faith in it, find scriptures for what you need and stand on them, confess them and believe God will do what He said.

Mark 11:22-25 NKJV

“So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.”

I would like to share with you an opportunity that I had to put my faith in action. When I was a teenager and I had to use my faith. I was standing at church and I heard a few people talking about going on a trip and I found out that they were going to go on a mission trip. After I had gone home from church I told my mom about this mission trip a group of people were going on but I thought is was to a country that was dangerous to visit at that time. My mom said, “I’m not sure about there, that is just too dangerous and I am not sure about that country. Now if it was Mexico, I would be okay with that because I have been to Mexico.” Well I found out that it was Mexico after all and I was so excited! I told my mom, “Mom! They are going to Mexico on this trip!” She said, “Well that is fine you can go but you will have to believe God for the money to go.” I was so happy about this trip, It was my first mission trip ever.

I started believing God for the money to go on this missions trip and started declaring to people at church in faith that I was going to Mexico on a missions trip. Guess what? God provided, the money came in and I got to go! The trip was 2 weeks before my 17th birthday and I loved that trip! It was so wonderful! I loved it so much! Not only was I blessed, but we got to give shoe boxes with toys in it to the kids, and have a tent crusade and walk in the streets inviting people to come. People raised their hands to get saved. I loved it because I felt I was fulfilling my purpose to minister and love on people and letting God use me. I know I was called to missions at that point. Praise God I was able to use my faith and declare that I was going on that trip. And, because I was able to use my faith and go on that trip I was able to touch peoples lives and God touched mine. Let God use you by speaking the Word and changing your situations and the situations around you! God needs you to use the sword of God’s Word.

Hebrews 4:12 NKJV

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

God bless you!
