Is there a difference between the thinking of a 20- or 30-something-year-old single male and a 40- or 50-something never-married single male about getting married? I will address that in the next article. In the meanwhile, first, view the video on the “HIS” Webpage. After that, view the response from her HERE of the marry-me-or-don’t-bother-coming-over ultimatum given by her. This film clip is from the movie “Picnic,” which was released by Columbia Pictures in 1955.
“So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: ‘Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,’ which is translated, ‘God with us.’”
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”
Jesus is everything you need. Jesus is the Word made flesh and He was sent to us to be with us, to set us free and to bring us into a relationship with the Father. Under the Old Covenant, there was a veil in the physical temple that separated everyone from the Holy of Holies (i.e. the presence of JHWH God). The High Priest, and only the High Priest, would enter the Holy of Holies once a year to atone for the sins of the people of Israel. Before Jesus died on the cross our relationship was blocked and we could not go freely to the Father. There was a veil between us and God that kept us from having access to Him, but when Jesus died on the cross, the veil, mentioned in Matthew 27:51, was torn in two signifying that the way to the Father is now open and we have access to the Father, the Holy of Holies, anytime we need it.
Before Jesus could die for our sins He had to come to this earth as a baby. So the Christmas story of His birth we celebrate. Then He had to grow up. He had to live sinless and be our sacrifice so our sins could be forgiven thus opening the way so we could go unobstructed to the Father.
Jesus was sent to us from God to deliver us and to set us free. Jesus is the answer to everything we go through. Whatever you need, go to Him for help. If you need wisdom, financial help, help with your work, help with loving someone. Jesus is all that, He is your wisdom, financial help, He will help you love someone with His love because He is love.
“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
As we celebrate this Christmas season remember why Jesus came on this earth and what He has done for you! He brought you into fellowship with God the Father. He has saved you, delivered you, set you free, given you a sound mind, He has given you His Word so you can overcome any situation with it.
If you feel lonely, take advantage of the fact that He is with you, God Himself is with you, don’t be lonely this Christmas, you have God Himself with you as your best friend. He loves you and wants to fellowship with you. That is why Jesus came. So that you can now fellowship with the Father God and not have a veil separating you. The only way to come to the Father and fellowship with Him is to accept forgiveness for your sins through faith in Jesus Christ. If you have not accepted forgiveness of your sins through Jesus then you cannot fellowship with the Father because you are still in your sin; but I have good news for you! If you have not asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior for the first time or if you would like to recommit your life to Him, I have a simple prayer for you that will bring you into fellowship with the Father.
Pray this prayer, “Dear Heavenly Father, I ask you to forgive me of all my sins. Lord Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. In Jesus Name. Amen.”
Now a few things you should do on a regular basis to stay in fellowship with your Heavenly Father: Read your Bible every day, pray to your Heavenly Father everyday and attend a Bible believing church. God loves you and He, Himself, wants to spend time with you. Jesus has made this possible for you, so spend time with your Heavenly Father today. He wants to spend time with you!
Remember Jesus is the answer and the Reason for the Season, and He was sent to be with you!
