Hers

Is there a difference between the thinking of a 20- or 30-something-year-old single male and a 40- or 50-something never-married single male about getting married? I will address that in the next article. In the meanwhile, first, view the video on the “HIS” Webpage. After that, view the response from her HERE of the marry-me-or-don’t-bother-coming-over ultimatum given by her. This film clip is from the movie “Picnic,” which was released by Columbia Pictures in 1955.

Woman Praying

The Value of a Woman

By Victoria Hundley

Proverbs 31:10 AMPC

“A capable, intelligent, and virtuous woman–who is he who can find her? She is far more precious than jewels and her value is far above rubies or pearls.”

Women need to know and realize that they are valuable and that they have worth. God has a plan for each and every one of us. He sees us as valuable and loves us very much.

I want to show you what God’s Word says about the value of a woman and that you are called by God.

Women are called by God too, not just men. God used many women in the Bible such as:

  • Deborah who was a judge over Israel (Judges Chapter 4 & 5).
  • Ruth was faithful to her mother-in-law and to Boaz whom she later married, her faithfulness redeemed her and her mother-in-law, she also became a great grandmother of Jesus (See the Book of Ruth).
  • Hannah had faith to believe God for a child when she could not have any and named him Samuel who became a prophet and did mighty things for God (1 Samuel).
  • Esther was brave and obedient to God and redeemed her family and the Jews from annihilation (See the book of Esther).
  • Mary the mother of Jesus, she had faith in God and was obedient. God used her to bring Jesus into the world and raised Jesus who became the Savior of the world (Luke Chapter 1).

You see God uses woman who are obedient and have faith in Him. If you will have faith in God and are a willing vessel, God will use you too. God loves you and wants to use you. He has a call on everyone’s life including women. Are you obedient? Will you let God use you?

Rom. 12:6-8 NIV

“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.”

“Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.”

1 Corinthians 12:4-6 KJV

We all have something God has given us to do, a calling, a purpose on this earth to fulfill.

When you were born, God placed a specific call upon your life to fulfill. He put something inside your heart that you could never run from. God has called you from the beginning, before you were even born God knew you. He has plans for you.

Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Romans 11:29 KJV

“For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.”

Wherever you have gone in life and whatever you have done. God loves you and He still has a call on your life.

I remember when I went on my first missions trip. It was 2 weeks before my 17th birthday. I went to Mexico and helped out with a group of people, it was with Operation Shoebox. While we were there we helped with tent meetings, walked the streets inviting people to come to the meetings, handed out the shoeboxes with toys and small useful items in them. I remember when I came home I cried so much because I missed it, I knew that is what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to be a missionary. I wanted to love people and minister to them. God had called me.

When I was younger I remember having a big heart for the nations and the lost. It burned inside of me so much to travel the world and to preach the gospel and to see the lost saved. I didn’t want anyone to go to hell. God put that passion in my heart. He put a passion in all of us to do something great for Him. I remember I’d go places and that burden would be on my heart to tell some of the people I’d see about Jesus. God has placed a calling upon each of our hearts to do something great for Him. God has a calling upon your life to do something great for Him. Be sure that you don’t settle for anything in your life that is less than God’s best for you.

We need to realize how valuable we are to God, then we will fulfill what God has called us to do.

You may be saying, “But I don’t feel called by God, I don’t feel valuable or loved by God.” What you need to do is to exchange the way you see yourself for the way God sees you. How do you do that? By reading the Word of God and spending time with Him. When you read the Word and spend time with Him you will find out who you are in Christ and how God views you. He sees you as valuable and full of worth like a diamond or a beautifully polished pearl. You are the pearl of great price, you just have to believe that and renew your mind to think that way. Remember you are valuable and you are loved. Go and do great things for God!
