Your Worth

By Victoria Hundley
Did you know that you are valuable to God? It is important as children of God to know our value and our worth. Our value should not be according to how the world views us, but our value should be based on how God views us. God views us as His children (sons and daughters) who are made in the image of Him and we are made in His likeness. We should view ourselves as daughters of the Most High God and see ourselves through His eyes, the way He sees us. What is your value? What is your worth?

Genesis 1:26-27 NKJV

“Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’ So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”

You see, in these verses God made mankind in His own image and in His own likeness. No matter how we view ourselves or how the world views us, we are still made in His likeness. We are precious and we are valuable to Him. He loves us and He has plans for us. Plans for us to rule and reign (Romans 5:17 “For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.”) and for us to use our authority on this earth. We need to see ourselves seated in heavenly places and see ourselves ruling the way God meant for us to rule. See Ephesians chapter 1-3. These 3 chapters speak a lot about our authority and our position in Christ. You are valuable to God and He is summoning you and He loves you.

Judges 4:4; 6-9 NKJV

In Judges 4 we see the account of a woman who was a judge and a prophetess that was used by God. “Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, was judging Israel at that time…Then she sent and called for Barak the son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali, and said to him, ‘Has not the Lord God of Israel commanded, ‘Go and deploy troops at Mount Tabor; take with you ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali and of the sons of Zebulun; and against you I will deploy Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude at the River Kishon; and I will deliver him into your hand?’ And Barak said to her, ‘If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go!’ So she said, ‘I will surely go with you; nevertheless there will be no glory for you in the journey you are taking, for the Lord will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.’ Then Deborah arose and went with Barak to Kedesh.” This was a victorious campaign.

Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Phebe was regarded highly by Paul as seen in Romans 16:1-2

“I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also.”

Ephesians 2:10 NKJV

“For we (each born-again believer) are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
God has plans for you, plans for you to do His kingdom business. He wants you to touch the world around you from a place of knowing who you are in Christ and knowing your worth and value. There are so many people you can reach and touch around you. People in the store, at the restaurant, at the laundromat, at your church and in your home. You are a light wherever God sends you, the places you go and things you do, you are a light.

Matthew 5:14-16 NKJV

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Proverbs 31:30 NKJV

“Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised”

As a woman you are precious to God. He finds great value in you. You need to know that, study the Word and see who you are in Christ and discover and display your true value and worth. You are more precious than jewels and God loves you!
