Hers

Is there a difference between the thinking of a 20- or 30-something-year-old single male and a 40- or 50-something never-married single male about getting married? I will address that in the next article. In the meanwhile, first, view the video on the “HIS” Webpage. After that, view the response from her HERE of the marry-me-or-don’t-bother-coming-over ultimatum given by her. This film clip is from the movie “Picnic,” which was released by Columbia Pictures in 1955.

A Time For Change

By Victoria Hundley

Happy New Year! 2024 is going to be a great year! Some are saying that 2024 will be a year for more! Having said that, it will be a year for more for you as well, if you will hook up your faith with that, and believe God. God has so many things He wants to do in you and through you. You need to ask the Lord what exactly it is that He wants you to do this year and, if needed, what things you need to change.

At the start of a New Year it is always good to do an evaluation on things like your life and goals and the things God has for you to do. For some people, January 1st could just be another day, but for many it is a restart button. A time to reevaluate your life and goals. A time to think about where you are headed and if and what changes you need to make. Addressing areas like where are you physically, financially, and spiritually. In re-evaluating, it may be a time to get serious and set your focus on the right things, on things that your Father God confirms to you are needing to be done.

Wherever you are headed and whatever the change is you are making, trust God in every step in which He leads you.

#1 Trusting God to Guide You in Change

Did you know that you are on a journey? You are on a journey with God! He is taking you on a wonderful adventure and has so many wonderful plans for you.

Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”

Just like a young child will take the hand of their loving earthly father, you need to take the hand of your loving Heavenly Father and know that God is leading you into a wonderful place; but first there is preparation. Your Heavenly Father has only good things in store for your future, but you need to trust Him as He leads you. So then, when God guides you in a path of change you need to set a strategy to have that change come to pass.

#2 Setting a Strategy

You may be sensing God is leading you in a certain path and you sense Him encouraging you to make some changes in your life; including in those areas of the physical, financial, or spiritual. You may know God wants you to make these changes but you are going to have to have a strategy to be able to see them come to pass in your life.

Proverbs 16:3 AMPC

“Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.”

You need to get a strategy to accomplish the goal He has set for you. What type of strategy should you make? Well you need a plan.

Part of the strategies suggested: for fitness you need to have an exercise program that you follow on a regular bases; and a good healthy diet to follow. For finances, you need to sit down and draw up a good budget and a plan to get yourself on the path you want to go. For spiritual you need to spend time with God everyday and read the Word of God. Whatever the goals are you need a plan and a commitment to see them through. To be able to accomplish the plans God has for you, you need to pray and ask God exactly how to accomplish your physical, financial and spiritual goals. If you need help, it is okay to ask for it. There are coaches out there that can help you such as a physical trainer or a financial advisor, there are also spiritual mentors in your church.

#3 Staying Focused on the Change

These areas that you are making changes in need to be before you on a regular bases like on a vision board or a notebook that you look at regularly. Map out the plan so to speak. Get your strategy written out plainly so you can see it and run with it.

Habakkuk 2:2 NKJV

“Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.”

God has good things for you this year, let God lead you in it.
