Hers

Is there a difference between the thinking of a 20- or 30-something-year-old single male and a 40- or 50-something never-married single male about getting married? I will address that in the next article. In the meanwhile, first, view the video on the “HIS” Webpage. After that, view the response from her HERE of the marry-me-or-don’t-bother-coming-over ultimatum given by her. This film clip is from the movie “Picnic,” which was released by Columbia Pictures in 1955.

Woman Praying

The Faithfulness of God

By Victoria Hundley

There is one thing that is sure; God is faithful. God is faithful to you, and God is faithful to His Word. Do you need someone to rely on? You can rely on God. Why? How? God is faithful to His Word. God is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. God will not leave you or forsake you. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. You can trust Him because you have seen Him come through before, and if He has done it before, He can do it again. He is always there for you in your time of need. You can trust Him because His Word is so good and so true.

I will show you today how God has been faithful to people in the Bible and how He will be faithful to you.

God has been faithful to those in the past.

II Kings 4:1-7 NKJV

“A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.” So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.” Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.” So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”

This is such a wonderful story of how God was faithful to this woman. A widow woman that was in a desperate situation; she was out of options, out of money, and about to lose her two sons to slavery, but God… God was faithful to her. God saw her and her situation and sent Elisha to help her get what she needed.

Other people God was faithful to were the Israelites. They went through some tough times, but God was right there with them. He loved them, and they were His people. God led them out of slavery and led them to the promised land. They had a lot of problems because they were not living by faith and complained a lot, and that caused them to be in the wilderness a lot longer than they should have been, but God was still there. He was still faithful to them. He fed them supernaturally (Deuteronomy 8:16: He fed you in the wilderness with manna that your fathers had not known). He led them by fire at night and a cloud by day (Exodus 13:21). God was there for them.

  • God was faithful to Daniel when he was in the lion’s den. God protected him and got him out of there, Daniel 6.
  • God was faithful to David when he had to face the lion and the bear, and when he faced Goliath, 1 Sam. 17:32-51
  • God was faithful to Noah and his family when Noah trusted God and built the ark. God told Noah to build the ark, decades before the flood was to take place, to protect him and Noah listened. Noah and his family were saved. Genesis 6-8

The stories in the Bible are so important to read because it tells us how God, who is God almighty, has been faithful to others, and you can have faith and believe that God will be faithful to you.

God will be faithful to you.

God will be faithful to you. He is always with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Matthew 28:20). As you trust Him, He will always see you through any situation you go through, just like the widow and the vessels of oil. God was faithful to her. What are you going through? What is your situation? Are you going through depression, lack of money, a bad relationship, hard times at your job, or whatever else? God will see you through. It may be a desperate situation, but if you will trust God and trust His Word, He will see you out to the other side. He is always with you. He is faithful!

Matthew 28:20b NKJV

“…and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.”

Hebrews 13:5-6 NKJV

“For He, Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?’”

Proverbs 18:24 NKJV

“A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”

How can you have faith to know that God is faithful? You can know He is faithful as you spend time in the Word and see His character. You then see His faithfulness as you go through things in life and see His hand in your situation, how He provides for you and pulls you out of any contrary-to-His-Word situations. You will see Him carry you through every time.

You can know God to be faithful to yourself.

Pray this prayer,
Lord, I believe you are a faithful God. I know your Word is true. I pray, Lord, that you will reveal your faithfulness in my life, in Jesus’ name Amen.
