Hers

Is there a difference between the thinking of a 20- or 30-something-year-old single male and a 40- or 50-something never-married single male about getting married? I will address that in the next article. In the meanwhile, first, view the video on the “HIS” Webpage. After that, view the response from her HERE of the marry-me-or-don’t-bother-coming-over ultimatum given by her. Woman Praying

It’s a New Season

By Victoria Hundley

This is the start of a new year! I love the start of a new year because it is fresh and new, and we have high expectations of what God is going to do this year in our lives. We also have hopes, dreams, new goals, and expectations for this year.

God gives us the hope that we have in our hearts for the future, and He has plans for us. He puts dreams in our hearts and things for you to accomplish. He gives you the desires of your heart, and our steps are ordered by the Lord.

Hope for the Future

Psalms 37:3-5 NKJV

“Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.”

I once heard someone say that God gives you the desires that are in your heart, and He brings those desires to pass.

Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

You have a future, and it is bright, but there are different seasons we go through in life, and some of them are not so pleasant. Some are fun and exciting, and some are long and dry but know that whatever season you find yourself in, know that God is with you, guiding you through it all.

Different Seasons

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 NKJV

“To everything, there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing; A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away; A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak; A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace.”

God is faithful, and He is just, He is love, and He is with us every step of the way through every season of our lives. Remember He will bring you to the other side.

Remember the story of Joseph in the Bible? I love that story. Joseph was given dreams by God at a young age. He had a call on his life to do great and mighty things for Him, but he was foolish one day and told these dreams to his brothers, who were jealous of him and hated him. These brothers one day threw him into a pit, and he was sold into slavery and carried off to Egypt. Joseph was sold to Potiphar, an officer to Pharaoh. While Joseph worked for Potiphar, Joseph was wrongfully accused by Potiphar’s wife and then thrown into prison. This was not looking good for Joseph. What about those dreams Joseph had from the Lord? Are they ever going to happen? Not only was Joseph thrown into the pit and then sold to be a slave, but he was then put into prison. But God was with Joseph every step of the way. And God is with you every step of the way. He will bring you out of every situation. What happened to Joseph? Well, those dreams did come to pass. Joseph was taken out of that prison and put in the palace, and was 2nd in command to Pharaoh. That was quite a promotion that only God could do.

So whatever season you find yourself in, know that God is with you. You may be going through an abundant season, or you may be going through a dry season, but there are ways to stir yourself up and the dreams you once had.

Stirring Up the Dream

II Timothy 1:6 NKJV

“Therefore, I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.”

This year stir up the dreams you once had, the things God has spoken to you. Take time to think about and meditate on those things God has once spoken to you about and the plans He has for you. For His plans are good, and your future is bright.

One way you can stir yourself up is by getting yourself a vision board and pasting pictures of all the dreams you have in your heart and the things you want to see come to pass. This will help you keep the vision before your eyes. You can also spend time praying in the Holy Ghost and speak with other tongues (See Acts 2:1-4). That will stir you up also.

Jude 1:20 NKJV

“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,”

There are different seasons in life, but know that this is a new season, and God has good things in store for you. He is ordering your steps and bringing you to the other side. He has a good plan for you, and you need to trust Him every step of the way. Be expecting good things to happen to you this year! Happy New Year!
