Hers

Is there a difference between the thinking of a 20- or 30-something-year-old single male and a 40- or 50-something never-married single male about getting married? I will address that in the next article. In the meanwhile, first, view the video on the “HIS” Webpage. After that, view the response from her HERE of the marry-me-or-don’t-bother-coming-over ultimatum given by her. Woman Praying

A Woman of the Word

By Victoria Hundley

What is a woman of the Word? A woman of the Word is one who treasures the Word, lives by the Word, applies the Word to her life, speaks the Word, adheres to the Word.

I want to share with you how important the Word of God is to your life.

Power in the Word

There is so much power in the Word of God. Hebrews 4:12 says “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

In any situation in life you need to know what the Word says and apply the Word to the situation. The Word of God is the truth about the situation. You may have a bill that needs to be paid and you don’t have the money for it. Well that may be the fact about it but the truth is what the Word of God says about the situation. In Philippians 4:19 it says, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Or, you may feel like you need to lose some weight, that might be a fact but you don’t have to feel bad about yourself, and don’t let people or the devil make you feel bad about yourself. First you need to know who you are in Christ Jesus, and know that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. You are valuable and you are precious in the sight of God. You are the apple of His eye and a pearl of great price. Then after you know how valuable you are, you can speak the truth of the Word over the situation like, Proverbs 11:1 says, “Dishonest scales are an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is His delight.” Confess that you are the right weight of ____lbs. Confess the Word of God over your body and over your situation because that is the truth about the situation. Facts change all the time but the truth of God’s Word will never change, the Word of God will change your situation. Learn to love the Word of God and be a Woman of the Word.

How do you become a Woman of the Word? You spend time in the Word, you put it into your heart, by reading it, speaking it, spending time with it until it gets down in you. Gloria Copeland always quotes Proverbs 4:20-23 “My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.” Gloria says you have the get the Word of God going in your eyes and in your ears, and get it down into your heart and it comes out of your mouth.

Spiritual Strength in the Word

There is strength in the Word, there is power in the Word. The Word of God is spiritual nutrients to you, to your spirit. Just like fruits and vegetables are strength to your physical body, the Word of God is spiritual strength to your spirit man.

There have been many times I have felt depleted spiritually, maybe I have not read my bible much lately or have had a lot of stressful things going on and I just felt weak spiritually. Every time I have set myself aside and read the Word of God, I could feel myself receiving spiritual strength as I read it. When I finished reading, I felt so different, I felt built up and recharged. Reading and feeding on the Word of God is like recharging your spiritual batteries. You probably have a phone or a computer that you have to recharge the batteries pretty much everyday. Your spirit is the same way, you have to recharge your batteries daily by reading the Word of God. Anytime you feel weak spiritually, set some time aside to read and feed on the Word, but it is best to make it a daily habit to read the Word. You need the strength of the Word to face all the challenges of the day.

Proverbs 6:22 NKJV

says, “When you roam, they will lead you; When you sleep, they will keep you; And when you awake, they will speak with you.”

What is Proverbs talking about? It is talking about the Word of God. The Word of God will be with you, watch over you and speak to you. The Word of God will come back to you when you need it. The Holy Spirit will bring it back to your remembrance.

Psalms 63:1-8 NKJV

“O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me.”

Washing in the Word

There is a washing that goes on when you spend time in the Word.

Ephesians 5:26-27 NKJV

says, “that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.”

As you spend time in the Word there is a washing that goes on. The Lord will start speaking to you about things that need to change in your life and as you yield to His direction and allow Him to change those things the Word will drive things out that need to get out of your life. It will start changing you and molding you to be the Woman of God you were meant to be.

Esther 2:12 NKJV

“Each young woman’s turn came to go in to King Ahasuerus after she had completed twelve months’ preparation, according to the regulations for the women, for thus were the days of their preparation apportioned: six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with perfumes and preparations for beautifying women.”

These women spent a lot time preparing themselves to meet the king, a whole year they spent preparing themselves. We need to prepare ourselves for the King of Kings. Let the Lord change us to whom He wants us the be through the Word.

It is important to spend time with God daily. The Word of God is God speaking to you, so spend some time today and everyday with the Word. It will strengthen you and equip you for things you face each day. Let the Word of God change you into the Woman of the Word you were meant to be!

Thank You
